Dang, got an Out of Stock from Summit. They seemed to have the best price I saw anywhere too. May have to wait on one to come in.
I got one of the cheapo infrared thermometers but haven't used it yet, I will post my findings when I get them. I also will be paying Summit a visit online and getting a Milodon 16400 160-degree...
Thanks Everyone, this turned out way funnier than I ever had in mind! I'm thinking a cheapo point and shoot thermometer might be in my future!
Anyone know what the numerical temp reading would be on the stock temp gage when it is at the middle mark on a 6-226 super hurricane in a 1960 Wagon? I'm guessing somewhere around 160-180? thanks. ...
Not sure if there is a way to post in the albums or just do it here. I have been taking photo's along the way when I remember and loading them up to my album when I remember.... added a few more...
That is great advice from both of you! I have a filter before the pump but sounds like I may have to move it. Thanks
After repetitive problems trying to get fuel from the main tank to the fuel pump, I took the tank off again and removed the fuel gage sending unit so I could get a better look! Well I was surprised...
I finally got one off Ebay, searched for 1970 Chrysler glove box latch and then looked at the photos until I found one that looked like the housing I had of the old one.
Just curious if you found one? I am also looking for one that fits the dash glovebox in my 1960 wagon.
Worked like a charm and cheap too!
Thanks for the tip, I will get some and give it a try. Thanks
Installed a couple new rear hatch weather seals today and ended up with a couple small tears in the first one. Just wondered what was the best thing to use to glue the tore spots? Added some photos...
Seems pretty sound mechanically, drove it some without brakes, engine sounds sweet, 4 wheel drive works, tranny feels good, needs brakes!
I finally figured out what I had to do to get them rotated correctly. I loaded several photo's in my album. They are in reverse chronological order!
testing pics
Thanks, I would load some more but don't want them all rotated.
Thanks, and yes very complete. I think all the original stuff is on it. only rust you don't see is where a rear hatch was missing and letting rain in. ruined half the wood slats in the back and a...
Another new member from Texas! New owner of a 1960 4x4 Wagon. Look forward to fixing it up! I would say I'm about an average or so mechanic, but eager to learn about working on these old Jeeps....
