Welcome to the forum.
Ya, a lot of us are really busy working on our projects. The forum has been a big help to a lot of folks though. I try and check in but life sometimes gets in the way. Ask...
Well, today both the Cj2A and Cj3A have been sold.
Thank you Willys Jeep forum. I'll still hang around because I still have my 1953 M38A1 that I drive on a regular basis.
Still have both Jeeps and they are listed in the classified section.
Yes the long shoe lining does go to the front.
The last photo of the passenger quarter of the 48 is a Bondo patch, which I have removed and the metal is not rusted through. It was a dent that was just filled and could be straightened.
Looks like a "kit" body to me.

Well I have decided to sell both of the CJ's. I have developed some back problems, which makes it hard to work on them. If anyone is interested send me a PM.
Hi and welcome,
The largest pitfall is they can become a money pit and finding parts. I found out that a lot of parts will not interchange between year models. If I was to do things different, I...
Hi and welcome to the world of old Jeeps.
As far as the chip in the block, it's hard to tell without seeing it. If you could post a picture it would help.
I have 3 old Jeeps, a 1953 M38A1, 1948...
You are talking about two different things. The axle seals have nothing to do with the brakes. Are you losing brake fluid or differential oil? May I suggest that you pick up the service manual for...
No the master cylinder pushes fluid out to all four wheels at the same time. When you say they leak, where is the leak? How are you disconnecting the leaking side?
Could be the gauge. First thing I would do is check the coolant with a reliable thermometer. If the temp is actually 190 check to see if the thermostat is opening.
Yep it's a metal spacer, goes between the flywheel and block.

My '53 M38A1 which is driven daily, has the spoke at 6 o'clock, it looks and feels better than my '48 CJ2A which is at 12 o'clock. I guess I'll change the CJ around. So I would say 6 o'clock is...
On mine the title and VIN plate on the firewall match. I thought the last numbers of the VIN were the numbers stamped on the engine block.
I was tinkering with the engine out of the '51 CJ3A and learned that the engine was not original to that vehicle. The title shows an engine number of 451GB127133 and the engine has the number J265914...
The '48 CJ2A is in much better shape. I rebuilt the engine out of the CJ3 intending to put it & the transmission into the CJ2A.

The CJ3 that I call my basket case is in restoreable condition. The guy I bought it from started on it but had some health issues and couldn't finish. The grill, windshield frame, front bumper, gas...
To help with the rusted bolts & screws breaking, pick up some Kroil penetrating oil or mix up some of your own with a 50-50 mix of transmission fluid and acetone. It will help with broken bolts if...
Looks like an old Ramsey or Tulsa PTO winch that someone has added an electric motor to.
I ran into the same problem during hot weather. Changed oil to 20W50 and the oil pressure improved when the engine warmed up.
Just joined the forum. Been rebuilding old Jeeps for a long time. I have a 1953 M38A1 that is operational but still needs paint work. I bought it at a Sheriff's auction in the late 80s and have been...
