    Smile Hello from Mr_Model_A

Let me introduce myself. I am a retired Deisel mechanic. I owned and operated a heavy diesel truck shop and a car care center for several years prior to retiring. I have refurbished several Willys Jeeps over the years as a hobby. I am currently looking to restore a 1947 Willys Overland Pick Up. I'm waiting for the weather to break so I can haul it down from the woods at the current owners property. Looking forward to sharing my project with you all.

    Restore Your '47 Pickup!

I decided to leave my '48 2WD as near stock as I could - no 12-volt conversion, fancy wheels, lift kits or Ford V-6 upgrades. You can read my story under the "Ham's 48" byline in the blog.

You will probably find that if it's not rusted tight, it will be worn out, or it will have been welded in place - or replaced with a part "kind of like the original".

But, when you're done - you will have a vehicle that turns heads as you go by - a magnet for chicks from 7 to 70!

Good luck - and post pictures!
