    Hi There

Hi , I'm not new to jeeps , I have 2 1/2.... '51 M38 '54 3B and a '44MB in a zillion pieces. Just always wanted a wagon so I'm starting to look.....does anyone know the paint schemes or whether it was factory or dealer who determined what pattern was used on the two tone jeeps . I've noticed quite a few variations ie; fender and whole quarter panel the same color and others fender one color and the rest of the quarter another color....my Pop had one back in the early 60's pretty sure it was a '59 red two tone with a white roof . I know people with jeeps didn't make paint and finishes top priority , just looking for a lil info
    Thanks,
    Frank

The front of the KWAS catalog has a couple of pages with paint color chips and the official list of what colors were used by year for various models.

But - I've never run across any listing of the two-tone color combinations and how they were separated on the vehicle body.

I think it would be a safe assumption that the factory made color combination decisions - but a dealer might have been able to order a custom color combo.

When we were painting the '48 Truck, the original color was stocked at our paint distributor as an AMC color, Tunisian Red.
