Newbie restoring a 1942 Willys MB

So I got it home. It's mostly complete and has been sitting for over 30 years.
I'm thinking I should remove the tub, fenders, front grille, and windshield and set them aside to work on the chassis, running gear, transmission and transfer case first. Any thoughts?

In my opinion, I found that it works out best to strip everything down to the bare frame to inspect everything. My current project is a 63 wagon, and that's what I did. It made it easy to flip the frame over to repair anything I found. Beats laying under the frame and scraping rust and paint.
