    F-134 engine

The F-134 engine was used in thousands of Jeeps. But you can not buy a rebuilt long block, short block or block. My block was cracked and I had to send it to Texas to be welded. They welded it, pressure tested and returned, but it cost 2500.00. I would have bought a new block or short block but I could not find one.

The L134 is the only aftermarket new casting available at this time. They are cast in China, by an American investor. He could not find a local foundery that was willing to work up the castings for a reasonable price. When the castings were made for the new block, extra reinforcement was added to reduce the chance of cracking, and the metallurgy was improved also. There is talk about a possible F head version, but nothing solid as of yet.

Mike, at Kaiser Willys, said that he is now making F head blocks. He also has a few used ones for sale
