    Dipstick location

During my stripping down of my 51 motor I kept wondering where the dipstick is. I thought by my research I had figured it out, went out and opened up the oil filler tube and then twisted it off the block.... and nothing... see attached pics... what am I missing?

The dipstick is attached to the oil fill cap. You are missing the correct cap, or the dip stick has been cut off or broken.

    Tom,

The dipstick shown is the complete cap and dipstick. It is a used piece that Kaisers is selling, but looks pretty good. The dipstick is either welded or brazed to the cap catch, then riveted to the cap.
