A generator

My Jeep came with an alternator, it was installed before I bought it, its a 12 volt

I have read somewhere you can buy a alternator that looks and performs like a generator

It has all the same fixings as a generator, but its an alternator

I know they are out there, but I cant find theme or the cost of them or even where they are located

Anyone give me any information please ?

Powermaster offers a "Generator Look Alike" which is a one wire alternator inside the original generator case. Page 54 is the start of the generator look a likes. For a CJ generator look a like you would use a Powermaster 82051 for 12 volts or a 82057 for 6 volts.

I forgot to mention I am in the UK

Buying anything from the US these days is extremely expensive since we left the EU

My Jeep is fitted with a 12 volt alternator

You did mention you were in the UK Derrick. I don't know of anything local for you. PowerMaster offers the "Look Alike Generator" in 12 or 6 volts. You would have to check with them on International shipping.

Summit Racing is where I would go. They do a lot of International sales. I don't know what it would cost you.
