View Full Version : Using a 2002 Willys Jeep as a Farming Tool

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and its my first time posting here.

I have a 2002 Willys jeep (sold as the Mahindra Thar in India). I wanted to actually try running it like the CJ3A and thus be able to use it as a farming tool. I have a small 5 acre land and was hoping I could just use the Jeep (don't wanna buy a tractor). How effective is the jeep when used with a three row standard plough ? I have heard the Jeep has some technical issues even when used for standard farming operations. I want to be able to maintain the on road driving characteristics of the vehicle too. From where I see it, both a small tractor (im thinking 20 HP) and a jeep have similar power train characteristics. SO it should be able t work effectively. Is there something I am missing here ?

Also what exactly were the issues with the CJ3A ?

Thanks a lot for all the replies.
