hello! I have a 1948 CJ2A willys and was wondering how to make the top speed faster without loosing any/minimum power? thank you

Surprised no one has answered here! I'm a total newbie and I have one answer: A Warn overdrive!
It will give you a higher top speed. I just don't know how hard they are to find now. They fit right on the the transfer case. There's a plate where a PTO winch goes. It literally plugs in there and you just route the shifter up alongside the others. I've been completely out of the jeep picture since 1995 so again, I'm not sure if they're easy to find or not. Ebay! I'll look now.
UPDATE: I looked... here... buy this, go faster. Make sure it IS correct though. I'm not an expert on the overdrive. I bought mine 30 years ago. But this one looks similar to mine.
