A lot of things are getting done - we may well be at the end of the beginning of the project. The weather looks like it will co-operate early next week and serious painting can get done. The plan is to paint out the cab so we can free up the rotisserie and get the bed on it. To do this we need a rolling chassis, so chassis and frame work has come to the front. New brake drums and a brake kit are on order and the rear axle is ready to open up and clean up. Bushings and kingpins for the front axle are on hand. I went and put new tires on the rims, so they are ready whenever the wheels are ready to go back on. A number of little things are done too; the starter and generator came back from the electric shop - a pleasant surprise was that the regulator was good! And - no small victory, the horn and windshield wiper motor works too. , The bummer - it will probably be less expensive to just replace the carb than tear it down and put a day's labor into cleaning it up and rebuilding it. Engine is still at the rebuilder's shop. He can store it as easily as we can - he's got more room.

An item of interest. One of the other projects in the shop is a set of replacement wheels for a 1919 Auburn Beauty Six ("Open Car"). How about wooden wheels and spokes that look more like a wagon and 28-inch tires - whitewalls no less!

Maybe next week we'll see the cab in its new paint job!
