Proper Steering Wheel Position

On a 3 spoke steering wheel, is the vertical spoke positioned at 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock?

I believe it should be at 6 o'clock.

My '53 M38A1 which is driven daily, has the spoke at 6 o'clock, it looks and feels better than my '48 CJ2A which is at 12 o'clock. I guess I'll change the CJ around. So I would say 6 o'clock is proper.
