The first of many posts/questions to come.
I have a '56 pickup I'm going to try and bring back to life. It was my dads and hasn't ran for 20 or so years. Engine isn't original and doesn't run, so I will be searching for a 226 either rebuilt already or I noticed the overhaul kits on the site here I would mind rebuilding myself to get familiar with it. This is my first restoration so I will be learning throughout the entire process. (Worked on planes in the Air Force, but not cars so a lot to learn) The truck is with my mom in California , I live in Texas now and I'm making the haul to get it this July, so I have a few months until I even get to dig in and tear It down but I'm just excited to start and get familiar with the forum and see/hear about others overhaul stories and tips. I tried posting a few pics of the truck. Take care!
