I just started back on a 1947 jeep, don't know if it is a military or civilian. there are alot of grease fittings
on the ribs under the body. Did they use to fill the ribs with grease as a moisture proof. also fluid for the differential
standard fluid okay

A. Well, I'd say that any grease fittings added to the body channels were someone's after market additions. Seemed like a good idea at the time I guess. Did they work?

B. Standard 85-140W gear lube works for all gearcases, but it will crawl out past bad seals.
