I am having problems adjusting the timing on my willys. I loosened the clamp on the distribitor but cannot get it to turn at all. My question is am I missing something or is it just frozen up. And how much force can the distribitor take in trying to free it? TYhanks for any help

There's no hidden bolt once you have the clamp loosened. It's not uncommon to have a distributor frozen up in the tunnel. Penetrating oil, patience. When you hear the distributor go "SNAP" or "CRUNCH", you know that was too much pressure ..... (I know, wise apple response).

Or even a big rubber strap wrench - an oil filter wrench.

Nice looking truck what year?

'48 2WD. The whole 22-month epic saga is in the Restoration Fourm under various "Ham's '48" headings. Ham was my Dad.

Sounds like a good time and a good thing to have such a connection with your past. It looks like you are a percosion rifle shooter? I am a shooter too Trap, Skeet, bulls eye as well as action pistol.
