Wanted advice on a four cylinder diesel engine that would work with original transmission with od in my 53 wagon.

I was just reading about a CJ2 that had a Kubota V2203 diesel engine. The owner seemed happy and there is a conversion kit available for the swap assuming your wagon uses the same transmission. If not, you should be able to get an adapter plate somewhere.
