Any of you folks looking for the little loop to hold your vent lever in the open position on your 3A, just wander on over to the CJ3A Page, join and drop me a PM. As far as I know I am the only one foolish enough to make these little PITA’s. So if you need one this is where you can get one http://www.cj3apage.com

Share your information with David over at ewillys.com. I'm sure there will be some folks over there that would be interested in your vent lever clips as well. They look well done!

Thank you for sharing!

Yep - you too could be a PITA supplier to the rest of us.

Thanks, looks like ewillys would link to the CJ3A page. Yeah it seemed kind of strange that you could buy replacement vent doors and handles, but not the stop which is very often missing. A few folks on the 3A site were looking for them, so I though I would spend an hour or so to see if I could make one that was a reasonable facsimile of the original. After only about 30 hours I did manage, so have been able to supply stops to those who need them. BTW if your vent handle Spring is shot, here is how to make a new one from a bicycle spoke http://www.cj3apage.com/cgi-bin/3Ayabb26/YaBB.pl?num=1379097845/6#6%C2%A0 Have fun.

I gave up the search and fabricated my own that does not look stock. Bending the wire seemed too much work and I don't own an acetylene torch. I took a piece of 3/16"x1" flat and drilled two holes in it for the 1/2" clearance 1.5" apart. I bolted in the holes two 5/16" bolts with the heads cut off. I set up the door and held it shut with a clamp and welded a small piece of 1/8"x1" flat welded in between the bolts where the door was held closed by the latch. The picture is the result. It works nicely and is slightly adustable.

Offer them to Mike at KWAS. He occasionally will stock odd parts like this.
