Hi new to the forum and a "new" jeep owner. It has no title so I need to find a serial number. It is a 1961 utility wagon. Where can I find the serial number? I don't see anything on the firewall. If on the frame can you point me to a location? Thanks for any help.

The serial number is stamped on the top of the right side frame rail, forward of the shock mount. The serial number plate would be inside of the driver's door, on the flat vertical section of the floor riser. This part curves around into the glove box under the driver's seat. Usually all you find are the four holes where the plate was screwed on.

Thanks! Found it. The plate was still by the drivers door. So obvious I can't believe I didn't see it.

Good deal! The plates usually disappears in time. The plate is long gone on mine. That's why they sell replacement plates.
