I am working on a Willys 1951 M38 and have some electrical questions. The first: I installed an Electronic Distributor. The instructions call for a "resistor". The motor runs without resistor. Will this cause a problem?

ALL have to have a resistor. You either have a internal or external resisting coil. You have to wire it accordingly or you will ruin the module in the electronic distributor.

Thank you for the quick response. I would like to use an external resistor, but I do not know which one to buy. Kaiser advises me to buy a new coil, with internal resistor, but that will require 90 minutes of driving to return recently purchases coil and then purchase and install new coil. Any advise?
