New to this, have a 48 Willys, needing engine

Hi, rebuilding a 48, currently the trans group is being rebuilt. I have sanded and recoated the frame. Stearing parts replaced, body ordered and searching for an engine that I can drive to parades rather than tow. I understand 4.3 chev or 3.8 buick RWD are ideal, however what years of these two work with current adapters? Any assistance would be appreciated.
