49’ Jeep project! Help!

So my brother bought this 49 Jeep and sent it to me to do body work plus paint. While I was rolling out of my garage after painting I heard a pop. Looked down to see what looks like a spring that got caught in the rear drive shaft. Any ideas on what the name of this spring is? Thank you!

I am going to guess it is the emergency brake return spring and the stuff hanging on it is a "replacement" for the wire that hooks the spring to the frame.

Bmorgil is correct. I just purchased the parts that are highlighted, and they fit just like the original. Matter of fact, I was out this evening doing the final adjustments out in the driveway.
