Is there ANY value in old brake shoes/drums?

I've done a complete brake overhaul in my CJ3B. The old brakes shoes are Bendix and the drums are quite old. I'm not sure the brand.
Is there any value in these? In other words, is it worth listing these on eBay for someone who wants to re-do the shoes and turn the drums? I think there's enough "meat" on the drums but I replaced everything anyway.

Mark, you never know what someone will buy. Price them right and I am sure you can sell them. Shipping is tough on drums.

Mine became flower pots. You might consider a swap once the swap meets startup again? Some regular seller might trade you for something else min his pile...

Changed my mind. Keeping the drums. They're stored in my garage and tossed the shoes. I just can't keep it all, but I can keep some! :)

Unfortunately ... (and I live in a decent neighborhood I thought), I'm missing my original "snail" 12 volt horn and my original spare tire holder. I had saved both with all my jeep parts (kept in ONE area for 35 years) and found both to be gone. My only guess is when I had driven around the block the few times, someone just walked in my garage and grabbed the first two things from the open cabinet. Very frustrating. I already bought the aftermarket tire holder. Looking for a horn now.

I found what looks like a nearly identical horn. It's on the way. And the new Omix spare tire box is already mounted.
For whatever it's worth, I filed a police report in the rare event that this stuff shows up or is possibly sitting in a container at the PD.

Post a pic when you get your horn! I gave the meep-meep to some text-a-holic cross lane sitting bozo at a traffic light cause he pulled out of the convenience mart and missed his lane fit. Funny to hear the jeep sound and watch a guy jump up and get with it pronto after when he ignored the green go light for about 10 seconds.

Well it's definitely a mystery as to where that stuff disappeared to. What bugs me is that I'm probably going to find other things missing as I think of them!

Well hell! Horn arrived. It appears identical to my old one. Maybe it is??? No it's not; this one has a bracket on it.
BUT... the damn thing doesn't work! I thought the listing said "working," but I don't see it in the text. I've messaged the seller.
How do you fix a horn? It's not really rusted but looks like it's been sitting awhile. Spray contact cleaner inside?

Mark you will have to check around on how to disassemble that horn. On most they are screwed together. Usually it is just an electro magnet and a set of contacts. The magnet is energized and it pulls a "vibrating plate" down which disconnects the magnet and starts the process al over again. The plate bouncing back and forth makes the racket. You can usually tune the distance the plate travels slightly with an adjustment screw behind the magnet, to vary the sound. If you venture too far on the adjustment, or the horn is real dirty or corroded it wont pull the plate or trip the contacts. If the electrical contacts are corroded it will not work. If you can get it apart cleaning it up usually does the trick. The coil in an old horn is usually a very durable piece. They seldom go bad.

Yes, horns are pretty easy to work on. Yours looks like the case can be split and the contacts cleaned. Growing up my Great Uncle had a '64 Chevy C60 dump truck. He put a 6 volt long bell horn on it from an old truck. With 12 volts pushing it, it was loud and deep. It would scare the scrap out of anything that crossed in front of the truck.

I feel for your loss. I hate a thief more than most. At the rust ranch, I have a menacing looking one eared German Shepherd that keeps people on guard, but it is the innocent looking Heinz 57 freebie dog that will take a bite out of you if she doesn't feel you are friendly enough. She has free reign of the driveway and garage, and takes her job seriously. Hope you find the culprit, or at least get your items back.

I rebuilt mine, the original 6 volt horn. I converted the electrical to 12 volts and feed it to the 6 volt horn as gm alludes to below. I had to tune it to sound like the original and it does, very loud!

I'll try and get to taking the horn apart today. Yesterday was "fun-filled" action regarding my jeep. In fact, it was SO fun filled that I may start another thread on this. Hint: CHP, DMV.

The two screws that act as contacts have shoulder wshers (insulating washers) to isolate them from the case. Make sure they are there and working. If the screw that goes directly to the battery loses its insulator, the wires get hot and all the magic smoke escapes from the insulation on the wires - life gets exciting. If the other one gets shorted to the case, either the horn blows all the time or if the diaphragm is stuck, it starts to smoke after a few minutes.

I took it apart easily. The cap just popped off with a screwdriver. I cleaned the contact, messed around. Got it to "HMMMMMMM," then adjust the distance of that contact. I don't quite understand how that works? Too far of a gap and no horn. Too close gave me the HMMMMM. Either that, or my jumper just wasn't decent enough. I did some arch welding on it.
Well anyway... it works now!

So yesterday I'm at a signal, waiting to turn left. Any, you guessed it, the left arrow goes green and the moron in front of me is staring at his phone.
I wait 1.75 seconds and realized he's obviously paying attention to Instagram, Snapchat, Tic Tok, Flick Flack, Flo Flarf, Dip Sh*t, or whatever the hell he's staring at.
I then realize that I'VE GOT A HORN now.
HOOOOOOOOOONK! Well I actually just gave it one firm HONK.
He looked up to see me three inches from his bumper... probably just saw WILLYS in his rear view mirror.
I was able to make my left turn. :)
I like this "low tone" horn. It's not obtrusive like regular car horns, in my opinion.

I remember when I was a kid, I was fascinated with cigarette machines though. I loved all the pretty logos (especially the CAMEL!) on the rows of buttons. Both my parents smoked. I never smoked in my life.
