During and after Vietnam, it was common practice to replace the generator in the Mutt jeeps with a variety of alternators, according to the electric load the jeep had to carry. As the electrical systems of the M38A1,and the m151's are the same (bless the common parts system), I want to replace the generator in my M38a1 with a military 60amp alternator. I have the conversion kit and the alternator,but I need a wiring diagram and pictures. Any joy?

Go on line and find TM 9-8014. It's a good size .pdf, but it has pictures of just about everything and diagrams of how it's hooked up.
