I have a 1948 CJ2A. How or where do you go to get History of it? Previous owner said it was used during Korean war.

I think that would be unlikely. MB, GPW, M38, M38A1 and CJ3A are the only ones I have heard of being in the military prior to and during that time frame. I researched it some for my ‘51 CJ3A because a relative of the previous owner asked me if I was going to restore it to military. My serial number is close enough to be a serious candidate but ultimately I decided it was never in the military. There doesn’t appear to be any actual records… only vague references. There is a lot of military knowledge at: https://forums.g503.com/index.php?sid=9337de40e2233ee60e73c83a4f1fe015

Well the Korean war was 1950 - 1953. The USA was there well before, 1945 is when North and South Korea was created. So technically if it was made in 1948 the War was brewing! It was then USED somewhere during the War, though not necessarily in it. As Jeff is saying, the CJ's weren't Military designation. They were designed for the civilian market. Now that doesn't mean somebody in procurement didn't "draft" the little CJ!
There are a few places to research your serial number. Here is a link to get you started. https://willysjeepforum.kaiserwillys.com/showthread.php?2464-JEEP-Serial-Numbers-Production-Figures-amp-Models
