I found out today for sure when I matched the engine block numbers with the VIN, that my engine in my 48 CJ2A is the original engine.....I was told im the third owner of this Jeep but had no way of checking .....Either way I thought that was pretty cool

Very cool! I bet the entire powertrain is original.

That is definitely good news there. It doesn't happen often that the original engine has been retained, with the serial number intact.
