jk, are you saying the positive terminal of the coil is hooked to the distributor and the negative on the coil is hooked to the ignition switch? If so the only real issue is the direction of the spark at the plug. This is a DC circuit and if you hook up the coil backwards the spark will travel from the spark plug ground to the electrode rather than the other way around. This will cause the plug to have issues. It will wear the plugs quicker for one thing.
