Saturday was the local Monroeville (Indiana) celebration that ended with a parade - so it was time to go out and show off.

It was a the typical small community parade, with high school bands in summer practice outfits, walking units for local politicians (Dr. Jeff Jones for Coroner!), little girls twirling batons, the local John Deere dealer with a $870,000 combine, horses and a local Jeep Club.

The Jeep Club was "Relentless Jeeps" - a group that has preventing veteran suicide as their on going service project. They are a really nice group and I asked if the '48 could lead the troop of kids in the parade - and they said it could.

We followed a couple of ladies on horses who stopped at every group of kids to let them pet the horsies.

BMorgil, if you think getting at the back of the Jeep Fest parade is slow - try following two horses. The '48 didn't have any issues - that Milodon thermostat kept the temperature gauge a needle above 160 all the way. But - at least one of the kids following me needed someone with a coffee cup to prop up his hood because at the end of the route he was pouring steam like a steam locomotive.

It was a good day - that's what old Jeeps are intended to do.

Perfect Larry! Absolutely perfect, that Jeep club knew. Let the the Senior Chief lead that parade! That 48' could lead any parade I have ever seen. Now those horses... you didn't pick up any "Road Apples" on the under carage did you?

10-4 on the Milodon thermostat! A 160 degree stat that runs at 160. God bless your coffee mug.

I was waiting for the road apple comment, and Bmorgil didn't let us down. Great showing LarrBeard, as usual. Ham's 48 is up front where it belongs.

Yep, it's rather nice down this way. 97 has been the highest so far, but the humidity is pretty low, plus a nice breeze to boot. '56 could make a loop and pick you all up in Flossy and head down this way until it cools off a bit....
