Looking at a CJ3A

I'm somewhat of a techno novice, so here goes...

I've got a lead on a " barn find" CJ3A but I need to know if the "numbers match" - can an expert out on the FORUM tell me how I determine this please? How do I know if it is the original engine??

Sorry for such a basic question, but I have to start somewhere.
