There were a series of pictures that Time magazine published of acres upon acres of wrecked Heeps, some stacked several high. I put them up tomorrow when I go back to work. The government requirements for the Jeep was for it to be able to last 6 weeks in a combat situation. When a Jeep was damaged, then it was saved for parts reclamation. Hotchkiss started off with the contract to reclaim parts after the war, but then they were granted the license to produce their own version under license, but they changed a few details to keep building after the license ran out.
