Wulfie you are working on a 2A right? I am not sure what that is. It looks like an add on of some kind.
Could it be a frame reinforcement for implements on a farm jeep or a snow plow?
That sounds like it could be it Jeff. A plow or something up front.
Snow plow are my thoughts. That frame is a cj3a or b, was told it was a cj3b
I don’t see it in any of my parts books but the CJ3B isn’t listed in them. Just the GPW, MB, M38, M38A1, 2A and 3A.
I just removed something very similar on my 1947 CJ2A. On mine, it was a support system for a snowplow blade. Is the same type of bracket on the passenger side of the frame as well? If so, that is probably the case.
I concur with the snow plow rear mount, if there is a matching one on the passenger side.
Looks like a reinforcement frame to me
