I' a new jeep owner. I have a 1946 CJ2A I have started working on the brakes. This jeep has a vacumm assit system on the brakes. I have purchased a service manual and can't find any reference to this system. Is this something that was an add on? It looks original to the jeep
Welcome. I was only able to find one article about vacuum assist on early models CJ2's. It said they were available although I haven't seen it. 1950's Willys used vacuum assist for wipers so it wouldn't surprise me if what you have is original but I cannot confirm or deny.
