How does a man "know" Larry? Only failure teaches adroitness!
Larry I am going to cut a section out for my mufflers when they come then I am making a hanger from the end of the tail pipe to mount right up to the body mount bolt .

Oh, Yeah. I just saw that long piece of pipe cantilevered out there and I wondered where you were going to put a skyhook to keep it secure.
Love the exhaust with the side dumps! They will sound great with the mufflers.
The Long Suffering will be just fine with all my friends showing up.....
Time to send everything out to get Tig Welded and dipped!!!!!]

Time to move the Ole girl to the house and get her dress fittedAttachment 5693 on her so we can send it over to my Buddys to get it wired, damn she's getting closer and closer!!!!

What a look! Once the body goes on it will be hard to stop.
I'd move it pretty quick so the minions don't decide to take it for a rip without you.
OMG that would be a terribly bad mistake, that’s why I want to bring it to the house so they don’t drop a wrench on it or spill coffee or something stupid like minions tend to do.
You would not be a happy camper if you walked in and found a box of excavator cutting edge teeth or the like sitting on the freshly painted cowl or fenders. Too many flat surfaces to resist the temptation to set something on. When our '46 was in the garage, I would find items deposited by my dear clutter pilot on the hood or fenders. When I had the doors off of the wagon body, I would constantly have to put items away that were set within..... Now she can't reach the flat surfaces to pile items on.
My your up early Buddy
And your right there, we have a picnic table right inside the door at the shop and it doesn’t matter what it is in their hands that’s where it ends up!!!!
That’s my job on the weekends, clean the table off bc they are to lazy to walk 12 steps to put it in the tool crib where it belongs. It’s much closer to set it on the picnic table and walk 9 steps to the time sheet box and get their paychecks.
Haha! I have to enjoy the fact that you and I feel the same paranoia. It almost like you get all jumpy as soon as you roll it out. Bird poop, stone drive way, rain and the worst, out of no where road resurfacing. Then you get the first blemish. It gets a little better. Now you might take it out of the garage.
I can tell you it is great when they finally roll out on their own TJ! I love a parade!
gm you are right on, on the flat surfaces. What is it about some, that any flat surface is there to set things on?
People are inherently lazy. I am the broom master both at work and at the rust ranch, and do like to keep things half way tidy around the shop. With the new garage addition/storage room, there will a ton more shelves put in..... But still there will be junk set on the workbench, heep, or fridge.
I had a method. I would take items that were left on flat surfaces and place them on the offenders bed. I got tired of putting things on their bed.
The Navy had (or had..) a term for things not put in their right place, "Gear Adrift". Each shop had an area that they were responsible for keeping clean and shipshape. But, as in the cases noted, things tended to drift into places they didn't belong. For whatever reason, you would find an inch-and-a-half wrench laying at the base of the radar antenna. No, there wasn't a bolt that size anywhere on that antenna base.
Things like that just went into the trading bin. The radio guys never needed a grease gun, but there were times when bargains could be made to benefit those who had and those who had lost.
(As for putting things on the offender's bed - try hiding their Walkman under that pile of clean clothes they were supposed to put away..).
I have a collection of tools under my desk. One of these days they are either going to ask where their tools are going, or they will no longer be able to borrow from the ones who manage their assets. More then likely I will run out of room for my feet.
I have no one to blame but myself.
FINALLY......Got her home and now the fun begins:confused::rolleyes:
The Bride will be hard pressed to get me to come in the house this weekend, unless of course I run out of beer in my fridge:D

Have you run the engine on the frame yet? This would be a good time to find the last little issue before you get all of her good clothes on.
Not yet Larry, I need to take it over to my Buddy's and get it all wired up after she gets all dressed up.
There is a boat load of wiring that needs to go in it for the Sniper EFI system and he retired from IBM as the head of their electrical engineering dept.
I think he is more excited about getting it over to his place to start on it than I am of finishing it.
Back in our Jeep racing days he built a CJ-3A with a Grand National motor in it that he put twin turbos on it and it ran like a raped ape, he called it "Blue Bayou" and it was very fitting bc he rarely lost a race:D
This is so exciting! Man that thing looks Bad A**!
Looking good! I really like the tub cart. Definitely sturdy enough.
Gm that is the body guy’s cart he built a few years back and it worked perfect
Speaking of him, he has either a 72 or 74 CJ-5 which ever year was the first year they put a V-8 in them he wants sell. I’ll get some pictures if anyone knows of somebody looking for a project to start.
If the CJ5 is an '74 orange Renegade with the Jeep Ansen kidney bean aluminum wheels, I don't need to know about it. I need another Heep like we need more rain.
Worked until 8:30 last night getting everything squared up on the frame, it's all downhill from here!!!!

Condolences to the wife, she wont be seeing you for awhile.
That looks great!
You'll be out road running by the time the roads get cleaned off.
Got a question for all you guy’s!!!
I have a steering wheel for sale on Willy’s for Sale that came off my project when I got it “a 52 M38” and a guy in Florida is interested in it. He’s got a “Spotless 51 M38” his is 17”s in diameter and mine is 13”s and they both say Sheller on a spoke on the back.
Which one is correct and where does the incorrect one belong?
Here’s his WOW it’s sharp

gm will know, or this is one of the best Military Jeep sites.
https://g503.com/
The 17" is the correct diameter for the '46 2A through the early Cj5 Jeeps. This includes the M38 and M38a1. The WWII jeeps did use a smaller diameter wheel, but it was a different style than the later jeeps. They did not have plastic covering the spokes, but just the outside diameter has the plastic covering. These were 15" in diameter.
Scheller made steering wheels for a lot of different applications from lawn tractors to construction equipment, so it would be difficult to figure what exactly a 13" steering wheel would fit. The bonus to using a 13" wheel on a power steering equipped jeep would be that you would retain the look of the original, but you wouldn't need the leverage of the original sized wheel.
Thanks GM that cleared it up, I can’t figure out where that 13” wheel came from.
Made a lot of headway today.

Oh man... that is looking so AutoRama! Sweet indeed!
Thanks Guy's!!!!
Couldn't have done it without all your answers to stupid questions, the Great ideas you guys gave me to make it what it has turned out to be, and of course last but not least all the Positive Encouragement!!!!
I also need to Thank all the Patients of my Bride "the one sitting on her phone in the background trying to come up with something to personalize on the license plate":)
Love that Girl!!!!
