I agree, clear as Alabama red clay. I have the later Parts Manual you can download from my cloud: https://1drv.ms/b/s!Av5WYhcYlOzDkPQCtboJThgD6XaMmQ?e=R9sgCN
Confused by this section saying some Universal models came with 1” and some came with 1-/8 and they must match? Crown/O’Reillys/Advanced only shows 15/16 for rear CJ applications? J series has 1-1/8...
I agree, I loosened the front shackle yesterday, will try the rear shackle loosened, spray some grease on the bolt/eye this evening to see if I can get it to seat/locate.
As you can see from my picture, the front is somewhat flush, but it's the rear inner that still has a gap.

Dana 27. This side also had a bit of gap but ratcheting evenly, the pin located...
While performing a knuckle stud upgrade and 11" brakes on my 61' CJ5, I replaced the front leaf springs as the PO told me he had removed one of the smaller ones per side to balance out the rear...
Very informative and fascinating, thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I came across some data indicating via a Willys Service Bulletin from Nov 1960 that the 27 was used and seems to indicate it was not common until it became standard in 1966.

Looking further at it, it appears the top mount is about half inch/less back towards the engine block, from perfect alignment. I think a thick washer/shim, longer bolt on the top and the bottom can...
I'll take that bet! Low hanging fruit at the moment, but on the list. I need a new whiteboard for the Jeep so I can start addressing/marking off the small annoyances. Overall, I am really happy with...
Well, it works well cold (minus random jump out on decel in 2nd), but as it heats up, I am getting some light grinding shifting into the gears that I am starting to notice. I ordered a gallon of...
Let me preface for those not familiar with my Introduction. All systems were rebuilt/replaced by the seller minus the T90 and rear end, an auto engineer with a major manufacturer, I trust his skills,...
Thanks for the feedback. Looking at the lower bracket, it's well made but the alignment seems just a tad off, I will look at it further to see if I can shim bottom or if top spacer needs trimming or...
Yes, I looked closer when installing the replacement, seems a hair off, though it looks normal under load. Appears the lower bracket was made with some angle and welded. Overall good fit, but may see...
Thanks for the compliment.
That was at the sellers house. But I did come to AL via Nashville area. Went through Jackson to Oxford a few times.
Seller replaced a Delco Remy reman OReillys GM 10SI with noisy bearing, now it's occurring again under my ownership. I'd rather avoid this even though it's covered under a useless lifetime warranty,...
Yes, the seller mentioned he rebuilt the Dana 18 twice, still leaks. Par for the course it seems. Mike at KW mentioned he offers a neoprene gasket. I will investigate further when it cools down in a...
Yes I've seen that mentioned trolling the boards. I plan to get my hands greasy to inspect further once the humidity moves out of here. For now, just cruising and enjoying the breeze.
I lucked out with this purchase as a design engineer with a large automaker undertook this project, hitting all the important mechanical points, upgrading where it made sense and a return.
The only...
