    134 F Head carb

I have a 1957 CJ5 with the 134 F Head motor. I want to replace the Solex carb. I can get a rebuilt Carter YF but I don't have a core. Has anyone had any experience with the Weber 2bbl that comes with an adapter for my motor? THANKS, MIKE.

I also had a solex on my 55CJ when I got it. What a piece of crap. Beg borrow or steal a core and get the YF. If you can get a core get a rebuild kit take the carb apart and clean it good then reinstall it. I did that and the rebuilt YF functions great. Oh don't use that alcohol gas junk get real gas or you will be getting vapor locks in the carb. (alcohol boils at 80F) , Going to premium gas makes the problem worse because most gas gets higher octane rating with more alcohol added to it.

Agree. Get an eBay junker for a core. KWAS's present carb rebuilder does a great job.

Here is more than you ever wanted to know about the Carter YF:
