    Smile wrong color

    got a m38a1 1953 definitely a military jeep but all body components are red never been any other color what's up doc?

    your thoughts would be appreciated

    How did you confirm it was always red? Although it is common to scuff and spray, some people actually strip and/or sand blast before applying new paint.
    Having said that, maybe it was a fire truck. In 1954 the M38A1 was offered as the CJ5. If you have one of the last '53s built, it could have slipped into that category. I don't know enough about the differences between CJ5, reproduction and M38A1 bodies to know if it is feasible but another possibility is a body swap.
