    wild Bill

Dad had a cj2 i think: so i drove It quite a bit, Also had a wagon 2wd. I just recently procured a jeep truck, 60's maybe ..has the solid windshield.

    Questions:

It has the super hurricane L226 engine, what kind of oil does it like? as I recall in the 50's and 60's all we had was sae 30 weight. We now have multi grades and synthetic. Currently It does not run I, plan on changing the oil before I crank it.

I cant find a id/vin number anywhere, Suggestions appreciated.

    A. here is a good source for everything you need to know about a "60-ish" L-226:

    B. For most driving above -10-degrees F, use 10W-30. Synthetic oils are slicker than 10W-30 and those newer oils will find a way to work their way past old oil seals. (Even 10W-30 finds its way out if the seals are old and dry...)
