    1960 CJ5 Steering

    Hoping to get some advice/suggestions about the steering on a 1960 Jeep CJ5. I recently purchased this Jeep. When it is driven down the road, it wanders around like an "old log wagon". You have to constantly work the steering wheel. This is my first Jeep so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    What tires are you running? Switching from bias ply tires to a radial tires are a good first step. The second is adjusting the play in the Ross steering box. Below are a couple of threads that go through the process;

    If both of those leads are done/ or does not help, then it's time to look at the king pins, tie rod ends, and drag link.
