I had been working a miss in the CJ3A. The distributor was full of sand so I swapped it for the electronic ignition version with a new coil and it still ran rough. I got a kit and went through the Solex carb and not much changed. Finally I went with new spark plugs and wires but the improvement was minimal. I was sitting in the seat trying to think what else I could try when I slowly touched the key to kill the engine. It sputtered a little worse then improved so I shook the key and the engine sputtered severly and died. A quick trip to NAPA for a new ignition switch, installed it and now the engine purrs like a kitten.
