    Newbie/1st Willys

Hello everyone. My name is Colin and I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 55 CJ5 for 1200.00 and hope I got a good deal. It has a fiberglass tub and is almost complete. It is missing the valve cover and needs a new wiring harness and restoration. The miracle is no rot only surface rust which is amazing considering it spent it's whole life in PA. Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think.

    Thank you,
    Colin C.

    Welcome Colin C.

You did pretty good on your purchase. That is the going price for a descent CJ5. Keep us updated on your progress!

Well, you have most of the big pieces. It looks like it has an alternator, so it may have been converted to 12-volts. It's been sitting
a while, so I suggest you get a KWAS catalog and look at the Best Practices article about starting an old engine.

And, I second the notion - keep us updated and ask questions. For every question you ask, there are two or three other people with that question who didn't want to ask it.

    Good Luckl
