But, One Thing Doesn't Belong ....

[QUOTE=TJones;10284]Just about ready to open shop, got my "Back Yard Buddy" 4 post lift in this past week!!!!

You need to get that weed whacker off the wall before it falls off and dings a Jeep!

Heat, power, shop air .. and now a lift.

I am as green with envy as the Grinch. (Not really...)

If it falls off the wall you may see smoke as far east as Indiana, NW to Toledo and as far south as Alabama

I built my first shop before I met my first mistake. After the honeymoon portion, she constantly gripped about how much time I spent out there..... I am not sure to what she thought the building was for, but in hind sight, the shop and projects would have been much cheaper in the long run if I would have known now what I didn't know then.

Looks like a runner. Now lets twist her tail and see what she's got.

It will be ready to rock after coming off the Dyno. They'll do the break in, then pull the load to see what you have. We twist on a water brake Dyno each power pack that we service and put together. Each one will average in the middle range of around 300 brake horsepower, with the high mark of 350 BHP and a low end of 285 BHP. The numbers improve when using #2 diesel, but most all are fueled with JP4 or JP8. The reasoning for using jet fuel is to utilize the same fuel source that the main battle tanks use.

The government side Dyno tests their Continental1790 c.i. air cooled diesels that crank out 1,200 BHP. These will shake the building, especially when running three at a time. They used to test the turbine engines that power the M1 Abrams main battle tanks, in our building but the 1,800 horse out put was too much for the test bench.

Nothing is more thrilling to a gear head, than a Motor pulling hard and crying out against the water brake. I love the Dyno Room!
