Jeep infected in Germany
Hello, my name is Jürgen and i live in Germany.
Driving Jeep since 2003 (Wrangler TJ)
Now starting with two older Jeeps. My first Oldie is an Willys FC 150 good condition and runs good.
My newest Baby is a Jeepster from 1951, I think there is a little work to do. The Jeepster seems to be ok in Technic and painture but there are some optical things. (Wrong Tires and Rims, missing Parts.....)
I'm having a general Question about Jeepster.... what is the difference between a Jeepster and a Jeepster Phaeton, is there any difference?.
greetings from Gemany

Welcome Jürgen, we are happy to have you. There is no difference between a Jeepster and a Jeepster Phaeton. The name Phaeton was mainly attached to the European marketed Jeepsters for marketing purposes.
We look forward to seeing your Jeeps, both new and well traveled.

It'a Jeepsater from 1951, with an 324 cui Oldsmobile V8 an Automatic Transmission. The sound is great.
So i have first to go on for Insurance and for TÜV.

Still going on for TÜV.
Its al little bit difficult because of the V8.
Tüv says it's not typical for an Oldtimer.
I found in a old Magazine a article about a V8Jeepster from 1958.

If someone have more information about V8 Conversions in Jeepsters between 1950 and 1960 I Would be lucky to show TÜV that is it absolut usual for an Oldtimer.
best regards from Germany
Jürgen

It isn't unusual at all to have a V-8 under the hood. I'll look around and see what I can dig up for period publications on engine swaps. Our wagon had a Chevrolet V-8 installed some time during the 1970's. Everything fit fairly well, with only a little modifications done to the frame. Pictures will not come up at this time, but I will try again after while.
