    Willys Truck Seats

I am working [perpetually] on this '52 truck of mine and am headed to the interior. The seat 'frames' are original with the springs etc but they are not mounted to anything and there is not a stitch of cover on them. The seat is a bench with no split, and the back is continuous as well. It looks as if there is a hinge where the bottom cushion would fold up to access the two storage compartments below the seat.
My question is, were these bench seats designed to pivot from the back and fold up against the cushion? Also, the seat back cushion...was that designed to pivot as well, or does it just attach the the cab frame solid? Before the springs head to the upholstery shop, I am needing to make sure that the mounting attachments are in place. Thanks very much.

Mines a 53 but here are some pics. Top pivots from bottom up, bottom pivots from front up. So to access below seat you lift back then lift bottom. Back will rest on bottom to keep it up.
At least that's how mine is.

The back mounts on the supports right below the window. You should have a hinge on the back that lines up there.

I guess the wood strip in the back of the seat is the lumbar support...lol

This is extremely helpful. I just got a new fuel pump on it and now that it is running, my attention can go to other areas...like seats. Thanks again.
