    engine serial number question

I recently purchased a 1965 CJ5, I'm trying to find out if this is the original engine but can't seem to find any lists of serial numbers. Does anyone know where I can get this information. It is a flathead 4, serial number 3J12182. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

According to the reference books, a 1965 CJ-5 should have had an F-134, not an L-134 flathead. There has probably been an engine swap.

Thanks for the info, This is my first Willys so I wasn't sure if it was the original engine or not. The guy I bought it from had no idea either. I've spent quite a bit of time searching and it appears that this engine is from a early 50s CJ3. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
