    Towing cj2a

What is the recommendation for towing a 46 cj2a behind my fifth wheel with a tow dolly?

Wanting to know if it is advisable to tow an older cj2a at highway speeds behind a camper with a two wheel tow dolly?

    Starpacker73,
I used to take mine to 4 wheel drive races every weekend (before I had a trailer) and had a tow bar mount on the front bumper. I just crawled underneath it and un-bolted the driveshafts at the pumpkins, some guys didn’t even do that. You just need to make sure the differential is full of oil and you’ll be fine.

    Welcome Starpacker73,
As long as the diffs are full, and the transfer case is in neutral, everything will be ok. You can actually install lock out hubs to the rear axle, so then the drive line will not turn while being towed. Four-wheeler magazine had a how to article on it several years ago.
