So, where exactly do you tow a jeep from?

Having just wrapped the tow rope around the bumper of my newly acquired jeep, where do you safely tow it from. All that sterring gear at the front looks a bit vulnerable? Is it around that cross member? Then over or under the bumper?

If the Jeep is not stuck in the mud and rolls free, then I hook into the front spring hangers. The original style spring hangers work best, rather than the thinner aftermarket lift hangers. If you have a tough pull, I like to loop a chain around the third member of the front axle, (bring the chain under the axle, then run it over the gear chunk, then hook the chain back into itself). This is the strongest part of the axle.
Front frame horns are notorious in being soft at the front crossmember, so it isn't a good idea in my opinion. Some folks like to bumper flat tow their Jeeps, but I'm not one for that.
