Teflon tape works to seal up the pipe threads of the brake light switch.

Gmwillys,
Thank you for the reply, I put all new brake lines and connectors during this rebuild and that drip was driving me crazy.
Thanks again

Now mine was leaking but it wasn't the switch itself, but the fitting the lines go into, someone had put the wrong crush washers in. They weren't even copper. Some type of synthetic material. Make sure that's not where the leak is.

I put in new copper crush washers and they look good. So I pulled the switch out and put in a plug. No leaks so I’m sure it is the switch. Will try to put Teflon tape on today and see if that stops it.
Thanks Marty

All set the Teflon tape worked and the brakes are ready to go

Just a note to the forum on this.
Teflon tape is OK on a brake light switch because the threads are not part of an electrical circuit to chassis ground. Oil and temperature sensors use threads for making the connection to the engine block. Teflon tape can insulate them and make a good sensor look defective.
Use a sealing paste on them.

Thanks, that is great information and I will keep that in mind thru the rebuild.
