    Memorial Day 2021

As we get close to another Memorial Day, I saw a very good note somewhere that I think should be shared:

Armed Forces Day is for the members of the military who are still in uniform.

Veterans Day is for members of the military who have taken off their uniforms.

Memorial Day is for members of the military who can never take off their uniforms.

Thank you to all three groups – we owe you so much for the freedoms we have today.

Here is a link to a tribute to one of our own Forum Veterans - Ira.

Definitely a view of the sacrifice on the definition of Memorial day. I have heard and seen representation that all of you from all the groups are actually always "On Duty", whether the uniform is on or off.

God bless you all Senior Chief Larry!

Thank you to those who are serving, have served, and those families who lost souls in service of our great nation. Happy Memorial Day.

As we take advantage of this holiday weekend to get some things done around the rust ranch, I just want to take a moment to remember the reason for the day off. I propose a toast to our friend Ira, and the rest of the Veterans that are no longer with us, or the ones that never made it home. For the rest of our Veterans, we appreciate your your service and dedication to our country. Thank you from all of us that can enjoy the freedom that your sacrifices have secured.

Without the supreme sacrifice of our veterans, we would never know the freedoms that we enjoy everyday. Never forget those who paid such a dear price.

Just came in from a sunrise walk to lower the flag to half mast till noon. What it takes to risk your life for the freedom of others is beyond thanks. God bless our Soldiers!
