I got a stand and wood block under the edge of the bell housing. Before I take the transmission crossmember off, I want to make sure my engine support looks good to the forum. Other suggestions/improvements would be welcome...

That will hold it just fine. Make sure it will stay put as you wiggle the trans out. If you want to be able to move the jeep with the trans out, you can put a "cinch strap" tight, or a piece of chain fastened between the frame rails under the bell.

Crossmember and Transmission out. I'll spend the week cleaning them up.

Things look pretty good. I certainly have seen much, much worse! That will clean up nicely.

I was thinking you had already cleaned things - that looks pretty good.

The crossmember and mount were well saturated with gear oil. I guess that's the beauty of taking pictures in a dimly lit garage
Here are some pictures after I cleaned the crossmember, mount and shift tower.

I will clean the T-86 in the next couple days, but here are some pictures in better light.

I also noticed that some of the mount holes on the crossmember were worn and larger. They don't look too bad, but thought I'd get opinions, again...

It looks like the cross member was working hard! The motor mount and transfer case mount look like they ran loose for a long, long time. I would just make sure you straighten the flange up and be sure the cross member itself isn't bent. Then I would use some large "fender" washers. It will work just fine that way. New ones are available.
