    Early October Car Show

Car show season is coming to an end, but today was a nice day to sit around and tell folks about Ham's '48.

Then, just as the award ceremony was about half over - the clouds opened and it rained like someone had turned on one of those rain shower heads. Yeah, I got wet, the truck got wet - but we've been a lot wetter a lot of times. The folks who were frantic were the 'Vette owners trying to get tops on and convertible owners fighting to get tops up. They had cases of the dreaded wet-bottom on the ride home.

I ended up with a nice little memento for the day.

That is a nice plaque Larry! The rain is the scare for my garage queen. Cloth seats and no roof. Not to mention its never been wet. I use water less and a cloth to clean it. I keep a "car condom" actual name, in the tool box. You cant make this stuff up.

    Great plaque Senior Chief!

Rain doesn't bother the Heep. Rust spots, just buff them down.

He’s got to have a special room in his house just for all the plaques and trophies he’s collected and won over the last few years!!!

I can officially state I have ridden in gm's Jeep in the field. It is an example of an original still working hard Jeep! Right through the brush and rough trail. Just like it was born to do. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin"! And it was right up front looking good in the parade.

It's a Timex, for sure. She is rusty and crusty, but she handles well on the open road, and through the back county. By the way, I found out what the noise I was hearing/feeling. When I did the service, I forgot to grease the throw out bearing. It doesn't make much noise, but it was an un-normal noise. The valves are about time for an adjustment as well.

Next August, she may look a little more flashy though.... No, she isn't getting a body or a paint job. More to follow after the holidays.

Nope, the driveline is staying the same.

    More like polishing a turd.
