I recently purchased a 1949 Willys Jeepster that underwent an older restoration. I bought it for the body tub, which is in very good condition, to use in my current restoration project (early 1950 Jeepster with the L148 engine, no overdrive and 11 inch mountain brakes). The Jeepster seams to run well, no smoke, starts easily, and runs smoothly, but I noticed that the Carter Carb is a YF 832SB. All my reference books say it should be a YF 738S, or a Zenith 228AV10. The Jeepster does have the L134 engine which is correct for that year Jeepster, but I understand the YF 832SB was for the 1950/51 Jeepsters with the F134 engine? I intend on selling the engine, hopefully along with the rolling frame, transmission with overdrive, and all the other parts I will not need. If it runs well with the YF 832SB should I leave it as is or get one of the correct carbs to be sure when I sell it, it is correct? Thanks.
